What is a VDAS Champion?
A VDAS Champion assumes the overall vision and responsibility of digital assets, digital engineering and BIM within the organisation. The role relies on critical stakeholder engagement within the organisation to ensure that exceptional DE and Digital Asset outcomes are achieved.
Is a VDAS Champion required for every organisation? Is it a full-time role?
A VDAS Champion can be appointed by the executive leader to guide the organisation in the implementation of the VDAS. For smaller firms, this role may be converged with existing executive positions.
This role should add 1.0 FTE toward the organisation; however, there is a need for unwavering commitment (particularly in Stages 1, 2 and 3) to the use of BIM and information in the project. Consequently, it would be prudent to articulate the commitment of time from this function to the project.
Will there be training of departmental VDAS champions to help upskill?
The Education Map will provide the Victorian Government’s asset stakeholders with specific details on courses, syllabus and contact details of the DE educators and providers across the State.
